Lapp Group at SPS IPC Drives in Nuremberg: Lapp with new products and quick product finder

At the SPS IPC Drives 2014 trade fair in Nuremberg, the Lapp Group presented a number of new products and new online services. The highlights included the new UNITRONIC® ROBUST for signal transmission, the new ÖLFLEX® SERVO CY 719 and an expanded portfolio for the industrial Ethernet sector. Lapp also improved its online product finder, making it possible for customers to find the right connection solutions even faster than before.

With the UNITRONIC® ROBUST, Lapp has extended its product portfolio of low-frequency data network cables with a cable featuring a special resistant sheath material for use in particularly harsh environments. The material is resistant to a range of chemical media, as well as being ozone, UV and weather resistant in compliance with EN 50396 and HD 605 S2. This makes it ideal for use in machine tool manufacture, the chemical industry, medical engineering, laundries, car wash systems, composting and sewage plants and agricultural machinery. It is available in three different designs: 1. unshielded, 2. shielded, and 3. twisted pair shielded version.

Lapp is also optimising its ÖLFLEX® SERVO product area. The launch of the new multi-standard ÖLFLEX® SERVO 719 CY will tighten up the range of servo cables for fixed installation. It replaces two cable types. This makes selection easier and production becomes leaner due to the use of more uniform materials. At the same time, Lapp is using a core insulation material that minimises unwanted leakage currents through the screening. This gives customers an improved product at a comparable price. As before, the product range covers all applications and is compatible with the servo motor ranges of well-known manufacturers.

For Industrial Ethernet, Lapp is extending its range of products for PROFINET applications and is now a single source for complete systems, including copper conductors and fibre optic cables with matching connectors, accessories, and services. The familiar ETHERLINE® brand copper conductors for Industrial Ethernet have been supplemented with new HITRONIC® brand fibre optic cables.

Product finder: always find the right product quickly

For customers who prefer to select and order products online, Lapp provides an entire series of new and optimised online product finders and configurators. The selection guide is simple and transparent, allowing customers to find the right solution even faster than before. In addition to cables, at www.lappkabel.de/produktfinder customers will also find cable assemblies, FLEXIMARK® marking systems, cable glands, connector housings and connectors as well as charging cables for electric and hybrid cars. The individual product areas are conveniently linked together – for example, once a cable has been selected, with just a single click the user is guided to the SKINTOP® cable glands with the associated dimensions and temperature ranges. With the EPIC® connector-housing configurator, the user can directly put together an individual industrial connector housing with locking concept and cable entry – 138 million different configurations can be defined with the configurator. The advantage of this solution: Before the order is placed, the result can be inspected on the screen. Incorrect orders are avoided. All product finders and configurators are directly integrated into the Lapp e-shop, making it possible for customers to place their orders immediately.
