We have a plan to invest around USD 500 million in India in the next 10 years
Delta Electronics India’s IABU (Industrial Automation Business Units) has expanded considerable market share in Indian market, and reliable brand in AC servo motor and drives, AC motor drive/inverter, temperature controller, programmable logic controller - PLC, please briefs its voyage and share some of the company’s milestone.
Delta's strength in power electronics and extensive knowledge in control technology has made us a leader in the industrial controls marketplace. Beginning with the design and manufacture of variable speed AC motor drives in 1995, Delta today offers a wide range of products for industrial applications. Our products include AC motor drives, servo drives and motors, temperature controllers, programmable logic controllers, human machine interface modules, optical encoders, and communication converter modules.
As a leading industrial automation manufacturer, we offer efficient and reliable products & solutions to serve global customers. With the integration of drives, controllers, motion, sensors, communication devices and software, we cooperate with machine makers in various applications such as textiles, cranes and elevators, plastics and rubber, printing and packaging, as well as electrical and electronics.
What will be your company’s most important innovation? Any revolution cutting edge product launches of the company in machine automation that made a unique?
As a leading industrial automation manufacturer, we offer efficient and reliable products and solutions to serve global customers. With the integration of drives, controllers, motion, sensors, communication devices and software, we cooperate with machine makers in various applications such as textiles, cranes and elevators, plastics and rubber, printing and packaging, as well as electrical and electronics. In recent years, we have integrated our industrial automation products, developed industrial control networks, and offered integration services to our clients around the world.
What makes Delta Electronics India different than other automation component manufacturers for machine builders (OEMs)?
Delta’s wide range of product lines, capability of offering solution to variety of applications and quality product has given an edge in the industry. Over the Last few years Delta Industrial Automation Business has gained tremendous momentum with an increased market share rapidly in all three of product segments: Drive, Motion & Control. Supported by the full and complete product lines and service network, we continuously become a major supplier of global process automation. Innovation and new product development have long been Delta’s expertise. Delta continues to do research and development work in products with new functions and designs and meet market trends and demands of customers in the rapidly changing electrical product markets. The pursuit of excellent quality and continuous improvement of productivity have created momentum for future growth.
Delta Electronics India is synonymous with Servo systems AC Servo motors and drives. Could you please highlight the company’s servo systems outline?
As the technology of microprocessor unit becomes more advanced and much further, the development and cost affectivity of permanent magnet manufacturing technology for servo motor and high power and high performance semiconductor power devices is improved continuously. Therefore, AC servo motor and AC servo control system have become the basic techniques for accomplishing automation control technology in current industry field.
Delta servo system is an omni-bearing integrated servo system which is based on Delta's strength in industrial and electronic technology and developed for different customers' requirements of various application machine tools. All ASDA series servo drives are provided with a superior digital signal processor (DSP) which represents a high-speed performance of the control circuit loop. Besides, the other features of Delta ASDA series, including gain tuning, smooth motor operation and software analysis / monitor function, also provide high-speed and high-precision motion control for a wide range of industrial automation applications.
Could you please focus on Delta make selective compliance assembly robot arms (SCARA) and which are the target market industries for SCARA?
Delta built DRS40L Series SCARA robot features compliance control functions without sensors, and offers excellent speed, linearity, verticality and repeatability to rapidly and precisely perform operations such as insertion, screw locking, assembly, load and unload, pick and place, stacking and packaging.
The automatic process path planning function fulfills industry needs for conveyor tracking processes such as gluing, deburring, coating and soldering and is capable of improving daily productivity by up to three times through high-speed and high-precision compliance control for production lines in the electronics, packaging, materials industries and more.
Could please focus on expansion and marketing challenges in Indian market? What have been the company’s recent expansions?
India’s industry sector is on a positive note. A stable government has helped in boosting the confidence of the industry and also the investors. The new government’s importance on manufacturing and export sector will help in augmenting the FDI and GDP. However, there are still many road blocks on policy front which needed to be addressed. Infrastructure is yet to be developed on international standard.
India needs to improve its infrastructure by scaling up the capacity of its ports and improving the rail and road connectivity. Uninterrupted supply of high quality power, land-laws and unorganized SMEs is other pain-areas where government need to attend on urgent basis. Improvement in the investment environment will stimulate investment in manufacturing not only by multinational corporations but by domestic enterprises as well.
Besides coming out new product line for industrial automation sector, Delta has the plan invest substantially in Indian market as part of the expansion plan. We have a plan to invest around USD 500 million in India in the next 10 years. The same is also expected to generate about 20000 employments. Further we are in the process of acquiring around 100 acres of land in Tamil Nadu to put up our third plant and an R&D center.
"The ‘Make in India’ vision which foresee India as manufacturing hub, is a positive and timely approach from the government."
What efforts are being carried out at Delta Electronics India to support the presence Modi government’s vision of “Make in India”?
It was been honour for Delta as we have been invited by the Government of India to share the dais to attend the ‘Digital India’ launch programme. Delta considers India as an important market and has always given utmost importance in business development in this subcontinent.
The ‘Make in India’ vision which foresee India as manufacturing hub, is a positive and timely approach from the government. As far as Delta is concerned, we already have full-fledged operation India with R&D centres and manufacturing plants. To bolster our presence in India we have committed to invest USD 500 million in India.
